So, I know this is a little selfish, but I'm throwing a big housewarming/birthday party for my boyfriend next weekend and I'd like to lose a few pounds before then. Is there a safe and healthy way to detox that will help me achieve this goal and if so, where would I find a good meal plan? I've been vegan for about two and a half weeks but not eating the most healthfully, so of course I know I'll need to cut out sweets and more fattening items. I really don't eat a lot of processed foods (and haven't for about a year, even before I went vegan). Just wondering if there are any food items or combination of items that are more healthful than others in expiditing the crap out of my body. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Hi Jessica,

Throwing parties rock and it's not selfish at all to wanna look and feel sassy and sexy! I'm not sure about any detox diets but I am mostly superhero and it really helped me shed a few pounds. Try eating very clean and simple and be aware of your portions. Brown rice or barley with steamed veggies keeps me so satisfied and can be so delicious. Also Daikon is amazing. TKD has a daikon weightloss tea in it. I actually have not tried the tea but I eat daikon regularlyometimes raw, sometimes steamed and sometimes the Braised Daikon dish from TKD and I think it most certainly helps with weight loss. It is also naturally detoxing and helps clear out the liver. Also drink lots and lots of water to help flush out your system. I hope this helps a bit and hope you have an amazing party! much love

I totally agree with Tali. Even if you don't actually loose pounds when you check the scales, you'll look fantastic - chance are your waist will be slimmer because you won't be bloated from crappy foods, and your skin will be better as well!

Thanks ladies! The last week, my whole foods hasn't had Daikon. Is it out of season now? I'll definitely try all of the suggestions though and let you know how it goes!
