Best milk alternative

We like unsweetened vanilla almond milk and vanilla rice milk. I give my toddler choc almond milk cut with rice milk because she won't get her calcium otherwise...
French Momma, what brand do you get of unsweetened almond milk? I can only find "original" which I assume has added sugar just like "original" soymilk. I was hoping to find unsweetened. ..
Blue diamond brand sells 'original' unsweetened, 'vanilla' unsweetened, and even 'chocolate' unsweetened. Some stores only carry it in the asceptic boxes on the shelves and not in the half gallons in the fridge section.
oh okay! Thanks for the info! I will look for it in those isles . . . silly that they don't make it in the refrigerated kinds.
I love rice dream, the chocolate is delicious!
I use mostly almond (unsweetened) in cereal and stuff like that. I prefer rice milk to cook with though - I can really notice the taste of other "milks" when I cook with them, but not so much with rice milk.
I buy Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk. I even use it in my pumpkin pie.
I've now tried hemp milk and must say I'm totally hooked. We no longer use soya milk in our tea - hemp is so much creamier. I've also used it in smoothies, baking etc. Seriously, hemp milk is incredible - just unfortunate I can only get it at our local farm shop.
I've also taken to using oat milk, which is also lovely. Oatly is the main brand here in the UK. I haven't used soya milk in ages - trying to cut down on my soy intake. I do occassionally have it when I'm out and fancy a soy latte but I figure that's okay - everything in moderation and all that.
Almond milk is also nice but for some reason I tend to only use it now and again.
Oh, and before I forget, coconut milk (not the stuff in a tin used for cooking) is mind blowingly good. I have to resist over consumption because it is addictively delicious. Here's a link to the brand I use:

I think a mixture of different plant milks is the way to go.
I prefer coconut milk, original not vanilla. I tried soy milk, almond and rice milk and all had a taste I didn't like - I only use it for cereal and haven't tried it in cooking.
I am just starting out on this diet and trying things out as well.. I've heard people use soy milk made from soy beans. You could try that. If you don't like the flavor or something about it try adding vanillia flavoring to it or some sweetener. That might help it taste much better!!!
