I and my fiance are currently new vegans. I have been a vegetarian for abouts 11 years nowand have made the switch to the vegan kind diet *after reading and showing off the book*. My fiance Matt was a vegetarian when I met him 7 years ago, but went back to meat about 3 years ago. We started vegan three weeks ago, he wanted to support me and figured it would be benifitial to his health. He also had said he would try it for 4 weeks and is now talking about staying with it as he feels great. We have been very good at staying on track with only the minor hidden sugar occurrance here and there *I never realized when I read ingredients my eyes skip right over the word sugar, until I get home and matt being the dutiful man he is re-reads the ingredient list* Befor starting I was getting in all the last meals I thought i would miss. The last day befor the Kind started I had a big strawberry frozen yogurt and then had a doctors appointment. My blood pressure was stupidly high*my mother has had 7 mini strokes in the past VERY SCARY* So long story short I check my blood pressure every second day and redcord it. In three weeks the my blood pressure has gone down a shocking amount.
My cats wanting some attention so I'll wrap this up. I Love to cook and to it constantly. I feel great making and enjoying this food.I also love that I can eat loads of yummy friendly foods and not feel guilty. I have loads of recipes and ideas if anyones up for a share.
