I recently started school in Paris and find myself 14 hours away from home.... Although, I miss California I cannot complain about the healthy lifestyle I've encountered in France. Portions are accurate PORTION size and everyone is health conscious. I however, live in a student dorm so no fridge etc... Its difficult to be a vegetarian much less a vegan because almost every meal contains some sort of meat "duck, veal etc..." and cheese is everywhere? Upon my arrival I ate a restaurant and had some sort of digestion problemf or almost a week? I just want to know: "how I can maintain myself healthy and on the kind diet when I'm limited with cooking and in a foreign country?.... thanks in advance for all your suggestions!!!

go to happycow.net you can find vegan and vegetarian restaurants anywhere in the world. I studied abroad in paris a few years ago (and i'm from california, haha). It was very difficult, and is actually what caused me to start turning vegan. I ate so much dairy that my body started rejecting it, and I became lactose intolerant. it was so painful because I couldn't figure out why i was getting so sick. When I finally figured it out, i basically lived off of french baguettes. Good luck, france might be the hardest place i can think of to be a vegan, but if you do enough research, i'm sure you'll get through!
