I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem? My 12 year old daughter has had chronic yeast infections for the past 8 months. We have been to numerous doctors, had tests, taken medication, and nothing seems to be helping. I though that I had read somewhere awhile ago that sugar can cause problems, but I can't remember if it was in regards to yeast infections. Anyone that can offer information, please let me know. I am at my wits end.

Thanks!

Wow..I thought I was the only person who had this problem....I have been having chronic yeast infections for about a year and I tryed everything, from pills, to doctors, trying to find information on it ....so I totally feel the agravaition and stress your under. About couple of months ago I ran into the kind diet and started trying new recipes and what not and of course I was still having yeast infections...but I have been free of meat and "Diary" for about 2 months now because I have finally managed to be free of it. And to my relief and surprise I had no yeast infections for those two months!!!! I was soo happy! Then...I went on vacation to visit my family who are total meat/cheese eaters and nobody had any vegetables up where I was, so I couldn't do much...so I had no choice..it was either to starve or start eating something that had cheese or meat. Well I was able to avoid the meat, but I started eating cheese again.....and then three days later...my symptoms that I was having down there came back along with a yeast infection. So after this whole story..my answer to you is it's probably the diary that is affecting your daughter like it was me. Now don't get me wrong...it doesn't stop right away, but once you start managing her to eat this way, if you can...the yeast infections will eventually go away. My other advice is that when I was still flirting with the kind diet recipes and was still going through yeast infections, I took the pill (Fluconazole) just to relief myself and have some comfort. Hopefully she is not too young to take the pill. I hope I have given you some relief or at least hope. I wish you luck with your daughter.smiley-laughing.gif Best wishes, Christy

Sorry..one more thing...if she is eating junk..for example sodas, chips, cookies....everything that is just fake food...get her off!! Their horrible and full of sugar that could be causing her a serious imbalance...their are awesome alternatives in the kind diet book that she could have for sweets...

The superhero plan is a great way to normalize the bodies internal function. The conditions that allow yeast to grow are often based on the chemistry of the body. Changing the diet is the best way to improve it. The superhero plan is the best diet plan for this purpose.

Just getting off sugar and dairy could work as well.

She definitely needs lots of probiotics and cranberry pills could help too. As someone said, no junk food or refined carbs, no dairy or sugar or fruit juice! Though it sounds gross, a probiotic used as a vaginal suppository works wonders, you may have to use one twice or more times a day.

Sorry she is so miserable!

Forgot to mention garlic capsules and caprylic acid/caproyl capsules. Both natural fungicides (candida yeast is a fungus) and have been helping me since starting on them in addition to the probiotics.

I was so tired of using Diflucan and over-the-counter creams that I broke down and did the garlic suppository. Gross I know, but it worked faster and better than any other treatment! Warning .. . if you have one at the time of usage it will burn a little when you put it in. Look up online. This might be a little too weird for a 12 year old though! Good luck.
