are the plain, original shredded wheat squares (bite size) considered a whole grain (like brown rice and oats) or a whole grain product (like tortillas and pasta)? The nly ingredient is whole grain wheat.

I'm looking to stay off whole grain products for awhile to see if that helps my weight loss .. so I only want to eat whole grains like brown rice, oats, quinoa, popcorn and... the shredded wheat if that qualifies.

I'm willing to bet that shredded wheat is a whole grain product, not the whole grain. It is a processed product, after all.

I agree with brandy, it's whole grain but not in it's true form.
