I was just wondering if any of you had tried the hot body scrub in The Kind Diet book? It is on page 128. I just wanted to hear any opinions and comments!

I am a little hesitant to try a scrub on my skin right now as my skin is sensitive and inflammed from eczema. Any comments help!

Hi Holly,

I do the hot body scrub each morning...it is marvelous! It scrubs off all of my dead, rough skin and rubs away anything to clog my body pores.

HOWEVER, I would not try it on sensitive skin or eczema. It is pretty rough. I have oily, dull skin so it works perfectly for me to rub off build-up, but I'm not sure about sensitive skin...

Can you do the hot body scrub in the shower? Or before/after? Or in place of?

I have been doing it before I shower, and I just have a shorter shower. I've done it for the past few days, but I didn't do it today because I had plans & was running a bit behind. It actually feels really nice on my skin & I've noticed improvement in my skin.

Hi holly!

Not all type of body scrub is suited to all type of skin. However, If you are having keen desires then you may have to choose body scrub that is created of natural substances and full of vitamin. These body scrub will never harm your skin at all and well nourish to sensitive, rough skin with removing all the dead cells from your body as well.

I read in another microbiotics book that its not a good idea to do the scrub in the shower but before or right after is good. In the shower the hot water really opens up pores and the body scrub in addition to that continuous heat and steam can lead to the loss of minerals through the pores.

Another point that this book made was to be gentle with the scrubbing. It should be simply the weight of your relaxed hand and the wash cloth, not pressing into the skin. And using a short and gentle back and forth motion with the cloth. Feels like a massage when I do it! So enjoyable! This author also said that skin may dry out for the first month or so but to avoid applying lotion to the skin. Letting the skin purge and then balance itself out is part of the healing and the dry skin should resolve within a month or so. Good time to make the scrub a daily thing since summer will soon be here and more skin will be exposed! This author body scrubs morning and night. Gentle and therapeutic thoughts for the body as you do it.

I have been using the hot body scrub on my face which is sensitive with perioral dertmatitis and it seems to have helped the appearance of the condition. Hasn't gone away but I do think it looks healthier than it did before I started the scrub. I have been scrubbing for a few months now. So to the person with the eczema, maybe proceed with the awareness to be gentle with those areas. Let us know if you see any improvement.

Very true mimi pay!

It's a kind of loosing almost every natural substance when you are using body scrub at the time of bathing below the shower. It's to good to use it right before or after the shower. In my opinion it's good to use body scrub that is made by only using or havng a combination of natural substances. It could also help your dry skin to became soft and healtheir.
