Does anyone have a suggestions for reusable water bottles that are kind to the drinker and the environment?

So far, I've tried BlueQ's stainless steel water bottle and the BPA-free NALGENE water bottle my work gave me. One third of the paint has already come off of the BlueQ water bottle after 2 months use and gives the water a really metallic taste. The mouthpiece on the NALGENE bottle starts tasting really funky about half way through the day. I often end up giving up and buying smart water or fiji water.

Does anyone have a favorite water bottle they would recommend?

We use Sigg metal water bottles. Very good quality from a Swiss company. [mysigg.com]. They are sold all over the place.

I love Nalgene bottles. Have you thought about getting one of the mouthpiece insert things? I find that the Nalgenes do need to be cleaned very well.

I also love Sigg bottles. But sometimes they can taste a little metallic too.

Also agree that Sigg water bottles are great. They are also bpa-free.

Sigg are good. Within the last year they re-did the lining of the bottles, so it's supposed to be better. Any stainless steel lined bottle in going to taste like metal at some point.I have a glass one I absolutly love - by lifefactory. A Whole Foods near me sold them. They have a silicone sleeve to protect them. I prefer glass containers for everything, but obviously breaking could be an issue, so I like this one.

Hazel, I've seen the lifefactory water bottles on Amazon and was thinking about getting one. Do you find it easy to clean?

Super easy to clean. I just handwash mine, but you can put the bottle with the sleeve on in the dishwasher, not sure about the lid. If you want to take the sleeve off, I think they suggest putting it in soapy water and working it off.

Cool. I think I'll give the lifefactory bottle a try. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!

I am very new to the Kind Life and was reading through these old threads, I thought I would share something:

The company Nalgene is involved with the creation of products used for animal testing.. http://www.nalgene-outdoor.com/about/whitepaper.htm.

I personally like Klean Kanteens. I know this thread is from a while back but I thought it was important to share what I know about Nalgene.

i agree with hazel- i have the glass lifefactory bottle that i purchased at whole foods and i love it...super easy to clean, just like any other glass jar or cup....the lid is also dishwasher safe, as well as the whole bottle...... the silicone sleeve comes in a variety of colors......and the mouth is wide, which i prefer over the narrow stainless steel kind.
