Lush Cosmetics - To Buy or Not to Buy

So I am a complete newbie at all of this -- Ive wanted to go natural for a while and was looking into companies that, as I learned haveing reading post from all of you, arent quite so natural. but here is my current conundrum

The whole point to go natural was two fold a. Be better to my body and b. be better to the environment. I've heard rave reviews about lush cosmetics, but as some people have pointed out - some products contain parabens and others have some other yucky stuff (or thats what it looks like). On the other hand, most of the products come without packageing, which I was really excited about - you know, less waist, etc.

So I guess i have a few questions: 1. Is Lush really that bad? or Is it still natural enough to be somewhat ok for me (right now im trying to go as natural a possible w/o going crazy...I really want Jurlique, but its alittle out of my price range for now, so this is my transition period lol) 2. If it is "bad" are there other companies that offer simliar "naked" products? Or are there Lush products that you know are healthy and natural? and finally 3. If not, which would be preferable: Using somewhat ok (in comparison to what i've been usinging anyway) "naked" products, or findng a differnt product that I would end up in a landfill?

Thanks everyone! Any help you could give me would be amazing!

Type "Lush" into the searchbar on the homepage of this site, as there are MANY threads that discuss Lush products on here. I personally have been using Lush products for years. They don't have packaging to feel guilty about, the amount of vegan products they have is huge, and they work really well. The owners are also really great and will answer any questions you email them about their products very quickly. But like I said, there are a lot of conversations already on here about Lush that you may want to look at for some guidance. Good luck!

I actually did do that, and it seemed like a lot of people like the company, but there always seems to be one or two people who say its not as clean as natural think and that you should look for something more organic, etc..

I did notice that the number of vegan products was huge and, Iike I said, I've been hearing pretty good things about the company. I have a store near my house, so I'm going to check it out for myself when I get a chance, but do you have any favorites that you like a lot or worked really well for you, or for that matter, didnt work or you didnt like?

I am obsessed with their solid shampoos...my favorite is called Karma, I think??? I also use a body bar called Buffy and a shower sugar scrub...I had no idea that there was such a thing as a solid shampoo, but I have used them for a few years now and absolutely swear by them! They also have good henna hair dyes that I use.

Ok this is super, super weird. I was just in my bathroom - like just this minute and I looked at all my products (I am a product whore...sorry it's true.) I bought quite a few origins and keihls things because I was assured that they were vegan - not so sure now...Anyway so I look at my skin having used the lush cupcake face mask last night and think 'I am never using anything else.. ever!' The products are so good and a lot are vegan. I'm in love with their face masks nd their dark angels face scrub, the grass shower gel is awesome.

I live in London and every time I go to a store the people there make me feel happy and welcome. ohhh yayy, I may treat myself to Lush this holiday season : )

Their bath bombs are really nice, and the shower jellies are wonderful too! You rub them on your body like a body wash, or you can whip it up in a container until it's almost a liquid and use it that way. I REALLY love, love, LOVE their "Celestial" face moisturizer. It has almond milk and vanilla in it, and my skin is SUPER dry and sensitive and it works wonders! It's definitely on my Lush to-buy list :)

I just went to Lush this weekend and spent a little too much on a lot of stuff :) I am in LOVE with their products! They are fantastic! They also have a good return policy, if something doesn't work for you (like if a facial product makes you break out or what not) bring it back within 31 days and try something else.

Yep, I love lush too - support these companies that are making a huge effort to accommodate us vegans. Plus, their products are amazing!
