Just wanted to share my good news. :) Apparently people actually are paying some attention in my family and my excitement about being vegan is contagious! My nephew went vegetarian about a month ago, and my brother just told me he went vegan a few days ago! He asked me about vegetarianism, but I really tried to point out that vegan was much better and he actually listenend to me. Wow! He is not doing it for the animals, but for his health, but the animals will benefit either way...I just hope he sticks with it.

The great thing is, we are getting together for Thanksgiving and now the only people that will be eating meat there are my dad and stepmom. Hopefully they will try the food we are bringing and be impressed by how delicious it is. Oh my gosh, I just realized everything I'm taking is from TKD cookbook- Whole Wheat Biscuits, Warm Potato Salad with Soybeans and Cucumbers, Pumpkin Bread, and Peanut Butter Pie! Ha. Yum!!!

I'm so jealous you have such great support. I would love just one friend or family member to be sharing my journey. Good for you!! Enjoy your thanksgiving.

That's awesome news!!!!!!!

I live in London but have had several American friends and lived with one girl at college. I always loved cooking hence whatever the holiday, we celebrated and I cooked...

So this thanksgiving I'm celebrating with my parents. My mum turned to me and said, well most things are going to be vegan anyway, so we can eat that and maybe we can buy your dad some turkey. Up to now the vegan things we're we're having are mash potatoes, this amazing onion gravy, green bean casserole - i've found a great looking recipe on fatfreevegan.com, sweet corn, corn bread - I made a huuge batch and will defrost some, and stuffing. Can someone suggest a nut roast recipe pleeease xoxox

PS

Kim, we're all here to help you share the journey, just send us a message if you feel isolated. Don't worry some members of my family think I'm insane, luckily my immediate family are pretty damn awesome.

Thanks, Katerina! Sounds like your mom is really supportive too. :)

Kim, I'm sorry you feel so alone. I do feel very lucky. Don't give up; you never know when someone will take something you've done or said to heart...it may take years, but you never know. Luckily, you have the support of everyone here if you need it. :)
