Hi all!

Just wanted to introduce myself on here..I've been vegetarian for a bit over a year now, after reading The China Study (amazing book), and was technically pescatarian for a few months before cutting fish totally out of my diet also--they're animals too and I just felt sad and ridiculous whenever I'd eat them.

So my next goal is to go vegan, and since May 09 I've been trying to read about veganism and educate myself and *gasp* actually cook for myself lots, as I never really did before going veg. I'm quite excited that life has led me to this path, embarking on this journey just feels exactly right.

I very much enjoyed Alicia's kind, heartfelt and intelligent book. So I look forward to cooking and learning lots of awesome things and being a part of this Kind Life community!

+_+ peace +_+

Hi Johanna!

I know I'm about a month late on posting, but I'm new here too, and I'm also new to going 100% vegan. So I just wanted to say "Go for it, and never look back!" I think it's awesome that you're making such a big change. I have found that it's easier than I thought to cut out all animal-products in my cooking. Of course, The Kind Diet completely helped me to see that cooking this way is fun and yummy. And I love Alicia's suggestions on what to put in your pantry instead of the ol' usual standbys. I hope your journey is satisfying and filled with good results!
