I forgot Pizza Fusion in Red Bank makes vegan pizza, and uses daiya cheese! MY FAV.
I'm obsessed with Veggie Heaven in Montclair and Brookside Thai in Bloomfield..
There's Kaya's Kitchen in Belmar.. and a vegan Italian place here in Toms River (or one of the surrounding towns, I'm not sure. It's supposedly also gluten-free!).
:)
I definitely need to check these places out soon!
My co-worker just surprised me with a massive dinner from Kaya's Kitchen the other night.. gluten free, vegan, and soooooo yummy! He did good! lol. That dinner definitely moved Kaya's Kitchen higher on my list of favorites..
I second Veggie Heaven in Montclair!!!! I LOVE that place. They also have one in Teaneck & Parsippany as well. I'm going to post a photo to my favorite dish there. "Seasame Chicken"
I live in bergen county and was thinking of trying Veggie Heaven in Teaneck. I am a new vegetarian (with aspirations for veganism). What do you guys get when you go to Veggie Heaven? What is the one must have if and when I go? Thanks for the help!
What's the name of the vegan Italian place in Toms River? I love Kaya's Kitchen (been going there since before I went veg) but we've been invaded. I'm not heading up there until after Labor Day. Does anyone know where to get a decent vegan meal in AC? Taking my husband to a show at the Borgata as an early Father's Day present and would love to eat something other than a "garden salad" ie iceberg lettuce, a rock solid tomato slice and maybe a piece of cucumber. This is the Garden State, right?
Veggie Heaven is awesome, as is Twisted Tree, and I've been meaning to try Kaya's since moving to Monmouth County. I'll also have to try Jessie's Cafe now that I know about it! There's also the Crust n' Crumble in Asbury Park as well. They have vegan Italian foods, like vegan pizza and veg sausage and peppers sandwiches, which I've been meaning to try. Since moving back to Jersey, the one thing I can't seem to find is vegan breakfast out, like tofu scramble. Aside from like fruit or dry cereal/granola there's nothing to eat!
ALSO, I just remembered I've been meaning to try Djeet in Shrewsbury and Down To Earth in Allenhurst. Neither are strictly vegan/vegetarian, but seem to have tons of options. Plus, Djeet changes their menu seasonally to serve fresh foods, and their sandwich "The Vegan" looks absolutely delish!
