Back on the Vegan wagon and feeling amazing!

I first began my vegan journey in 1998 when my youngest child was having dairy allergy issues and my mother saw Marilu Henner on a talk show talking about raising her kids dairy free. She had written a book called "Total Health Makeover" and after reading that book I can honestly say I haven't had a glass of milk since (and since before then I would drink about a 1/2 gallon a day that is quite a change!) Over the years I have floated between vegetarian, vegan...and had several boughts of being "off the wagon". About six months ago I broke out in a horrible rash that resulted in open sores on my neck and shoulders and back. I spent months trying to get rid of them. On fall break in Florida with my family I had hoped a week in the salty water would help clear them up. Nope, still there even after swimming every day in the ocean. When I got home I cracked Alicia's book back open and reread Marilu's book and went back on a strict vegan diet. Within a week the lesions had cleared. I had suspected that I had a dairy allergy earlier in the year and had given up milk and cheese and felt better, but the sores on my back and neck was the worst it had ever been. 6 weeks later, I am off of most of my medications, eight pounds lighter, and full of energy, and thankfully my skin (not only on my shoulder back and neck) is gorgeous!
