Struggling to be Vegan after Some Wine...

Okay, so I know this might be a wierd question. I've only been a vegetarian for a few months and now flirting with being a vegan. And the only time I really miss meat and dairy is after I've had a few drinks. I think what I'm really craving is rich, salty comfort food. Does anyone have good recommendations for rich vegan foods that I could easily find when I'm out and not able to cook? I can only think of french fries. Oh, and I'd love to hear that I'm not the only one that is dealing with this : -)
Thanks!
Since you're talking about eating out, maybe go for a pasta with plain pesto? Generally should be vegan, but be sure to ask. Depending on the place, a veggie burger - except many of those in restaurants are vegetarian and not vegan.I don't eat out much and when I do I go someplace I know I can get vegan food, so I don't have any other ideas for you. There are many more options when eating at home. Also - if you decide to go full on vegan at some point - you'll want to start thinking about wine, as what you're drinking may not be vegan.
If you're anything like me... maybe it's the comfort of anything fried? Try veggies tempura. Really good and still a little bit "bad"
Hi :) I have the same problem! Most bars and restaurants have chips and guac or salsa, chips or pita and hummous, fried mushrooms, fried pickles or soft pretzels. Those are my personal go tos :) You can always see if theyll cook something up special for ya too...most nicer places will do that for people...
Be careful with pesto, it usually has cheese in it.
Definitely, that's why you need to ask about the pesto. It depends on the restaurant, a good plain basil pesto should be safe, but you never know.
Hmmm, maybe I just don't eat at too many restaurants, and I tend to go to health foods restaurants, so I guess I've been lucky. But regardless, anytime I go out, I always ask and never assume anything is free of animal products, I mean, I've seen salad with tofu and cheese, which I think is a very odd combination!
