is it me or is it hard being a vegetarian and your spouse eats meat?

Over the years I have found it rediculous what women are willing to do, as far as feeding their family. Years ago a one of my sons soccer games a mom told me about how she makes different meals for each member of the family. It just sounded crazy to me!
It started that way for my hubby and me and has gradually improved. Now he knows that if he really wants meat we need to go out or he needs to fix it himself. He resented it in the beginning but doesn't anymore.
Watching "Food Inc" was a big help because it is not about being vegetarian at all, but presents the realities of food industries here in the U.S. and it really turned him off to eating certain foods. Also, me not pushing but just gradually fixing less and less omni foods and finding some great new recipes that he loved really helped, he really appreciated my efforts.
I've only been vegetarian for two weeks (today:). I am loving it!! As for my my family, they have been eating less meat because I'm the one the does the majority of the cooking. So far the meatless meals have gone over really well. As others have mentioned if dinner is to include meat I serve it on the side. I am however finding it more difficult to prepare meat now that I don't eat it. I might try what Miranda does, cook enough for more than one dinner.
my now husband understood when we started dating 4 years ago that i was veg. i since went vegan 1 year ago at the same time he chose to go vegetarian. i was a good influence on him! he never expected i make him meat. i wouldn't even buy it! if he wanted meat he would have to get and cook it himself! : )
