Is it okay to eat a cup of brown rice for both lunch and dinner everyday? I read that brown rice/whole grains are staple to the macrobiotic diet. Just wondering if I'm doing it right. Thank you!

Hi Beverly:) Brown rice, especially short grain brown rice is one of the most balanced foods you can eat and is a wonderful staple to have for lunch and dinner.

Are whole grains that have been hulled appropriate for the macrobiotic diet? is it still considered a whole grain? For example: hulled millet, hulled barley.

Thanks!

I believe hulled grains are actually more nutritious. If I understand correctly, 'hulled' grains have only the outer layer removed, leaving all the good fiber intact. More processed grains have less fiber. But you good always do a Google search to find out more, I may not be correct.
