Hey there, anybody know what size the box of rice puffs is supposed to be? How many grams? Thanks

I've only ever seen one size box of the brown rice crispies. I always make half a batch of the treats and use a 9x12 pan.. they are thinner and a jar of brown rice syrup goes further that way! We love them in a half batch!

How do you store your Crispies? And how long are they good to eat? I want to "bake" some tomorrow :-)

I just wrap them in plastic wrap and keep them either in the pan or on a plate. If you don't cover them they get dry pretty quickly, but if you don't give them something to sit on they all kind of mold together. Either way they're delicious. I normally buy a bar of Endangered Species Dark Chocolate, chop it and add that instead of the chips if I need that chocolatey flavor to go with it.

Thanks for that, everything is in grams where I am and the health store was out of rice puffs, they're sold in bags otherwise in NZ...a box makes a lot more sense!

They are so yummy!

I have the same question, there are several sizes here in Canada. I guessed. I also can't find brown rice syrup but I did find barley malt which the book says is a second choice to brown rice syrup. They taste pretty much like barley malt and they are quite gooey. Should I substitute barley malt for brown rice syrup 1:1 or should I used less barley malt than brown rice syrup next time? Thanks!

I use a 284 gram box of Nature's Path. We do have several sizes in Canada. Rice syrup is a little difficult to find here, but some health food stores carry it so I stock up. According to substitution website http://www.foodsubs.com/Syrups.html , you will want to use barley malt to rice syrup 3:4. Try a small batch to ensure the barley malt does not overpower the squares - maybe you will end up with a taste you like better!
