WHY can't I sign in with my old account info?

I made an account here on TKD on 12/26/09 and have logged into TKD off and on since then without problems. This week I went to sign in to discover that I couldn't and had to give EQUAL access to my email contacts if I wanted to sign into TKD. WHY did I have to do this? My contacts are none of EQUAL's business and I find it terribly upsetting to discover that I have to make a new account and give EQUAL access to my account in order to sign onto TKD.

Also when I read one of the posts below complaining of a similar thing I used the email for EQUAL that was given in order to contact them so I could use my old info to get back into TKD. Today I checked my email to find a response that the email Jason Matthews gave, support@equal.com, is not working/available. Great.

I want to sign in with my old TKD account. Please help me with that. I also don't want to give EQUAL access to my email account and contacts info since when I signed in on 12/26/09 it wasn't part of the deal.

I just joined and I too had to do this. I tried to get around it but there didn't seem to be a way. Sorry I don't have a better answer, just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.

many of us actually had to make entirely new accounts as we could no longer access our old ones. EQUAL does not reply to our inquiries but Jason has always been great about responding. I just eventually requested that my original account be deleted. It was a real bummer, I still feel bad about losing all that history but the site continues to be great so I just try not to stress about it.

Thank you Amanda and feb girl. I'm not stressed just bothered by how nosey companies are to get our personal info. Personal info is big business and people are so quick to give it up.
