Hello all! I went vegan in November 2010 and I can't believe how amazingly different I'm feeling already. Only problem is, just about everyone I know thinks I'm as nutty as a fruitcake! So I'd love to meet some new vegan friends. Casting the net wide for the whole of Scotland, I know, but is there anybody out there?

Cheers everyone
Bethany

Hi, Bethany. Welcome! Whereabouts are you in the Scotland? Congrats btw, that's wonderful news and you are not a fruit cake! It is the best thing you can do for yourself and the planet. =)

One suggestion is that you may want to check out a website called: meetup.com They have lots of groups that focus on just about anything you can imagine and I bet they do have at least 5 groups that have some thing to do with vegans or at least vegetarians near you!

If you ever have a nutrition question, especially those from more of a medical perspective, feel free to ask. (I'm a doc btw) I'm good with that...not so great with the cooking parts, etc! LOL. We all have our talents. =)

Again, Welcome.

Kindest Regards,

Jenna

Hi Jenna, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out! A doctor eh... awesome! I do have a question for you actually but it's not about nutrition: is the pill vegan-friendly? I'm just asking out of curiosity as I'm on it to control my periods (they put me in bed for three days otherwise) so coming off isn't much of an appealing option!

Thanks!
Bethany

Katerina, that's amazing!! I'm also in Fife! My college friends all think I'm mad too, I have one who keeps trying to tell me that "it's healthier to eat meat, I firmly believe that" ... need I say more?? :P What are you studying? I'm doing Social Sciences :)
