Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am a 31 year old mother of 3 boys. I have been a flirt for about 6 months on my own, but read Alicia's book over the holidays and graduated to vegan on January 1st! I have had some freaky-medical issued off and on and it was just time to make the switch. Plus, I want my kids to grown up loving fresh foods, not being a slave to the processed ones! The hardest part so far is getting off the caffeine, but I have totally given up diet soda which I never thought would happen, and am down to 1 cup of coffee a day!

Anyway, just wanted to say hi! I don't know any vegans and know that having a support system is a vital part of any journey!

Hi Jennifer, I just noticed that no one responded so I wanted to give you a "welcome"! I have family in the Charlotte, NC area and visit quite often. Living in the south seems so tempting when the weather is like it is up north!

Anyway, good for you for getting off diet soda (amazing!) and good luck in your vegan journeys! I didn't know any vegans for years and years after making the transition and I agree, a support system is such a lovely thing to have. Even though I feel I made a successful transition on my own, I just LOVE being able to participate in online discussions that remind me that I am not the only vegan out there!

Jordan- do you know of any Vegan friendly places to eat in our area? I've worn out the whole Japanese thing and am ready to try something new!

Thanks!!!!
