my name is Traci and I am a 22 yr-old female living in fort worth wanting to give this whole thing a try. I am currently reading Alicia's book and am super excited to try this out. The only problem is that my boyfriend is not just hesitant about the whole vegan idea but keep telling me how stupid it is for me to even try it. I told him that I'm not asking him to try it but to only be supportive of my decision. He still won't drop how complicated it is going to make planning meals or going out with friends for dinner. If there are any vegans out there in fort worth or dallas that know of some good places to try in the metroplex please feel free to write me back on here and if you would like to join us for a dinner I would love that also!
Does Austin count? Hey Tracy, Welcome to the plant-based lifestyle. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I can help you huge. We have a lot, a lot, a lot!
When my BF and I met, I was already vegan and he thought I was super weird. Since I wasn't preachy and just did my own thing he gradually started trying my food and realized it was very tasty. He also appreciated the kind of shape I was in and wanted that for himself. Over time he stopped eating meat, making it a rare occurance. It was weird. He just didn't want to feel so full and weighed down by all that animal flesh. After a while he even reduced the amount of dairy he ate, going from some to a couple times a week. I even just talked him out of cream in his coffee to soy. This has taken over a year and a half. I'm not saying your BF will definitely change, but he might become more tolerant.
I hope this helps! Don't give up the kind fight!
