If anyone knows a sympathetic vet or a charity that gives to life saving operations, a friendly home or would like to donate - please let me know - this was sent by a dear friend who found this dog...
I was driving on the 5 north I noticed that a dog was dragging his whole body onto the shoulder of the freeway. Once I got to him, he didn't run, he didn't bark and he didn't bite, he just looked up at me. I took my jacket off, wrapped it around him and took the dog to the Humane Society in Pasadena. I argued with the receptionist until they took him. I called every day to check up on him. They told me he had a spine problem, a broken femur and that he was too aggressive so they would have to put him down. Here's a dog who showed no aggression towards me when he was in shock and terrified, all he did was lick my hand. So I went to the Shelter and fought to adopt him. I explained to them that I wanted the dog and was going to take him to my personal veterinarian so they agreed to let me adopt him. We took him to the vet and he said the dog would be okay if his leg would stay in place. Since his leg was dislocated from the impact, the ligaments were torn. We took him home and he's been an angel, he plays well with other dogs and plays well with cats. He has shown no aggression towards anyone he's met. He's a great dog with a big heart. We went back to the vet today and found out that his leg is not staying in place that he needs surgery. Charlie is a great dog and deserves a second chance with a good family and someone who will love him and take care of him. If anyone can help find him a home or can donate so we can pay for his surgery to help better the life of a kind dog who's shown no anger or hatred even after everything he's been through.
