Lot's of info here - thanks! I love Backstreet but didn't know about the separate menu! That is cool!

I spend way too much time and money at Whole foods - but it is a great store, I also shop at Randalls for other stuff.

That event at backstreet looks wonderful, I already have a commitment that day or I would go - I will keep an eye out if they have another one!

WOW! Look at all the WONDERFUL Info that all of you shared! THANK YOU...THANK YOU! i'm sooooo excited to learn more and more about my options. I have discovered Krogers Vegan Options...I live in the Clear Lake Area and The BEST selection I've found (Krogers) is the one on El Dorado and Bay Area Blvd. It's the biggest selection I've seen in the area. I miss Whole Foods. The one I just read about is kind of a trek. Anywho...GREAT to read that I'm not the only Veg in BBQ Central. LOL!

As for the Rodeo...aside from the food choice....WOW! The Concert line-up is CRAZY AWESOME! Texas definitely knows how to rock a Rodeo with Music Style. Can't get that in Cali. :)

Thanks AGAIN! :)

Mary Ann -- beware that you're supporting the animal cruelty even when you go to a rodeo concert -- they do roping events on the floor in the arena before the musical act starts, and the proceeds from any event at the rodeo support unfriendly animal endeavors. The scholarship-winning animals are usually slaughtered after the rodeo.

I know...it is so hard to watch the animals in the pre-concert events. It always made me so sad growing up, that I now refuse to go and support that. I didn't know some were slaughtered after the rodeo. :( That makes me even more sad. Oh, and btw...the concerts aren't that great there anyways...the sound is terrible and they are so far away on the turning stage...you can't even see them.

Hello Ladies,

I am brand new to the Kind Life and I currently live in Spring and I am so relieved to see other Kind Lifers out there because I am new to this. I am technically flirting but so far I don't miss meat. Ice Cream and cheese are what are getting me. Anyway glad to know there is a group for Houston.

I am actually from Dallas but I have lived here for about 7 years now. I went to school in Sam then found a job in Houston. Anyway that is all for now

Hi! My name is Nisha and I would love to bring some simple but delicious South Indian cuisine to your table! I specialize in South Indian food, snacks and condiments, but can also produce some North side dishes as well smiley-laughing.gif. Recipes are tried and true and have been tasted, tested and fed to our family and friends for generations.

Our kitchen is purely vegetarian and all homemade. I was born and raised in Texas, but have been lucky enough to grow up on the food. I have more details in the 'vegan catering' forum as it allowed for more characters. Absolute minimum oil is used in cooking and food is most if not all, lentils, veggies and spices in some format. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions! Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. UPDATE: Looking for a commercial grade kitchen to cook out of!

I don't know if you're still looking, Nisha, but there is a duplex just down the street from me on Colquitt (in Montrose) that's a commercial kitchen space. Not sure of any of the details about it, but I'm sure you could find them. Plus, you'd have a vegan just down the street who'd be willing to come learn...I mean, help!
