Hi everyone,


I am a vegetarian living in the Hillsborough/Somerville area who is atempting to make the move to vegan now. I am having fun trying new recipes, but finding good restaurants that serve more than just a plain salad is proving to be difficult. Anyone know of any good ones closer than NYC?

Hi Lindsay,


There are some great restaurant options that I know of ...


The Loving Hut in Ledgewood, Nj - full vegan fast food type chain restaurant.


Veggie Heaven in Denville and Montclair NJ - I've been to the one in Montclair and it's great!


Toast in Montclair has a few vegan items


Rutherford Pancake House in Rutherford also has a few vegan options.


Sweet Avenue Bake shop in Rutherford is a vegan cupcakery


Papa Ganace in Red Bank (?) is awesome!!!!


Organic For Life in Caldwell has some vegan options


Jeruselum Deli in Livingston has many veggie options as well as all are kosher I think.


I want to check out Sprig and Vine in New Hope, I hear great things about it.


As well as the Montclair Vegans group, there is a veg social group in central NJ. I've never been to their events, but heard good things.


I'm always looking to meet new people, especially vegans/vegetarians. Would love to get together for lunch sometime and meet some of you.

Hello everyone! I'm Zuzana and Ive lived in Jersey for a very long time in Lincoln Park. So im familiar with Montclair and im really grateful to Lori for Posting the restuarant i cant wait to try them.


I've only been a vegetarian for 4 months but im really trying to go vegan. I'm fine for a few weeks and then i want some cheese. and then i'm fine again.


I've started to look for groups on google but most of them are far.. i would love to hear back from any of you. thanks smiley-laughing.gif
