Hi everyone! I'm Danielle. I spend most of my time in Boston (Beacon Hill and Brookline), but rest my head in Saugus (on the North Shore, but not really, under 10 miles from the city). Life Alive in Lowell was my favorite favorite place to go, and now there is one in Cambridge!! Haven't been there yet because none of my friends will try it, but I'm sure it's just as amazing.
I am new to the site and new to Massachusetts. I just relocated to the Berkshires for work from Philadelphia. If anyone has any good vegetarian/vegan resources; shops, restaurants in the Berkshires or any kind of events, I'd love to make some new Mass friends. :)
I was surprised to find no one from the western part of the state on here - except for Anna from the Berkshires! I'm from the Chicopee / Springfield area. I realize the last post was in November 2011 and here it is July 2012, however it is nice to connect with other MA vegans.
It's nice to see other vegans and macrobiotic folk in MA! I live in the Worcester area and I have found lots of vegan and sometimes macro restaurants. I am also gluten-free so that makes it an added challenge. If there are other gluten-free vegans on here, don't fret, there are places! The ones I list below all have GF options in addition to being vegan.
Evo's Dining in Worcester
Loving Hut in Worcester
Grasshopper in Allston
There's also a vegan ice cream place two doors down from Grasshopper that also has gluten-free ice cream too! I haven't had it yet but my friend did and loved it.They have vegan, gluten free hot fudge and whipped cream as well!! And all the toppings are vegan.
Masao's Kitchen in Waltham
The Red Lentil in Waltham
Prana Cafe in Newton
True Bistro which is near Davis Square. This is a gourmet, fancy place. Totally amazing!
Veggie Planet in Harvard Square
Udupi in Shrewsbury, an awesome all vegetarian Indian restaurant.
