Would LOVE to start a vegan-dinner group, maybe a monthly thing??
Also, what are you ladies doing to stay warm...i just moved here from NC, it's really tempting to buy a huge down coat...but i just can't!!! What is your advice for places to shop, coats to buy...??? (vaute couture is not an option for my budget although i worship their line)
I'm down for a monthly meet-up for sure! The only thing is that vegan restaurants I've tried here in the city have disappointed me a bit... I have had good luck at Karyn's Cooked (on Wells) but the other 2 locations have let me down more than once. I also met the organic farmer who used to supply Cousins Vitality (raw food, but still vegan,) and she told me some nasty stuff about what she's witnessed there. Never been to Chicago Diner or Soul Vegetarian, but I'm willing to give it a go. Any other suggestions for restaurants? Maybe I just need to try some not-so-obvious places? Also, I'd be interested in a pot-luck style meet-up as well.
Lora- I have a winter coat from Lands End that's 100% Polyester and it's like a brick wall to the wind... It's awesome! A little spendy, but nothing like a couture would be.
Hey guys! I'm excited about starting a Chicago vegan food group! The Loving Hut in Edgewater ( read the reviews here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-loving-hut-chicago) is reasonable and has some yummy menu items. What days work are best for you for a meet-up? Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Sunday nights are most convenient for me. If you want to direct message me with your emails, we can start an email thread about it. So pumped!
Hi! I'm Kailey and I live in the Suburbs but go into the city to eat ALL the time!!! I love Karyn's, the loving hut, chicago diner, cousins incredible vitality, all of it!! My e-mail is email@example.com .
i'd love to be included as well - firstname.lastname@example.org - relatively new to this so don't have much idea of where to eat (but i like going out, so anywhere will be good for me) and like the idea of potluck get-together (but no clue what i'd cook!) i'm looking forward to learning with a group of people i won't have to assure that my iron needs are being met!!! :-)
