I live in Sligo in the NorthWest of Ireland (for anyone who doesn't know). Sligo's not the most kind Life place in the world but as I get more into it I am noticing more and more here. We have a GIY group (grow it yourself) so I am planning on growing my own organic veg this year which will benefit me and my children and hopefully the planet.
I have wanted to meet other vegetarians and vegans in the area because I sometimes feel that I am the only vegan I know and I am constantly feeling like I have to explain myself. I feel like I can't either have friends over or go out because there is very little to eat for me in restaurants.
I'm feeling better as a vegan than I did when I was vegetarian and if I compare it to when I was a meat eater I'm like a different person. But I do stumble a little and would like to have someone I could chat with and get tips from or give tips that I have picked up.
Anyway if your in the area let me know and we can have a chat and maybe a get together.
Ive just seen your post after i posted mine. Im in Cavan, and flirting with veganism, already vegetarian. Its a nightmare to get veg choices here! My local Tesco has emptied the quorn freezer, and no longer stocks Tofu - so Umeboshi Plums? Dont think so :)
Id love to hear how you're getting along there!
