Hi Kelly! Hangawi is excellent! Make sure you wear socks you don't mind sharing with the public bc you'll be taking off your shoes. Candle Cafe is good too. I prefer it to Candle 79. Blossom is yummy too. There is one on UWS and the one that is a little more gourmet downtown with a vegan chocolate place across the street. Peacefood Cafe is really good on UWS.

Pure Food and Wine is amazing as well. It is a raw vegan restaurant near Union Square.

I ditto Pure Food and Wine if you like raw food. It's super yummy!

Hey, I live just outside of the city and have been vegetarian for almost a month. I love vegan food, want to meet more people who have my food interests (I'm the minority in my group of friends). Can we plan a meet up at a veg restaurant in the city soon?

Hi all! Has this meetup happened yet? I would LOVE to meet some fellow vegans. I stopped eating meet in July of 2010 and became vegan in January of this year. I love it and I feel great! I have eaten a few times at Blossom (favorite) and once at Candle Cafe, which I also loved. I have also hit up Lula's Sweet Apothecary for vegan ice cream. SOO yummy! Anyway, I have no vegan friends and would love to make some!!

Hey gals, do you know--there are a BUNCH of vegan meetups all over NYC and surrounding environs! That's right--meetups devoted to delicious vegan food, fun, and compassionate causes! Even vegan drinks (check out supervegan.com, too!)

Actually -- just Google "vegan meetups NYC" .. you will see a lot ... they call them "vegan eatups"! Also a lot of potluck dinners. And ... a big vegan picnic every summer in Central Park!
