hi Vanessa , nice to meet you ! I am in mtl , in the plateau , just a stones throw away from Aux Vivres ( lucky moi )

been vegan since last march. I am originally english / south african and have lived here 8 yrs ( cant believe that !! ) since marrying my rimouski man . We have a little boy aged 4 and half .

where are you ?

Hi guys! I'm for the montreal area aswell!!! Nice to meet you!!! I'm about 40 minutes away but I still come to the city aften enough! Have any of you tried Chuchai restaurant?Or la Crudessence?

hi Tanya ! yes i tried those 2 and love them. Montreal rocks for vegans and there is a new vegan store opening v soon on st laurant boulevard called Viva Vegan. Cant wait for that . Where are you living then ?

Hi,my name is Priscilla.Im also from Montreal...I havent tryed alot of vegan restaurants yet,but i can't wait.The next one i'm interested in trying is called Bonny's..Have you eared of it???Almost everything there is organic and it looks delicious :) (website).I'm very happy to meet you all!!!! :))

Wow! How great is it to fin vegans in MTL! I have been looking for you everywhere hehehe ;)

I am in NDG (Villa Maria metro), been vegetarian for almost 4 years and vegan for 4 months. Oh. I am loving every second of it. Everything tastes better and I am passionate about cooking now, whereas before I never cared for making my own food.

Yes, I have been to Bonny's. It is quite nice. Not to expensive (especially if you have the Green Consciousness Guide - which is fabulous : http://conscienceverte.ca/en/home ) and very friendly. Don't expect huge plates though.

I cannot wait for Viva Vegan!!! When is the grand opening? Does anybody know?

And what are your top vegan restaurants? Here are mine (not in order, I really can't choose the one I like best)

- Aux Vivres (BLT and Mekong sandwiches are heaven, as well as their breakfast waffles on the weekend)

- Crudessence (everything is wow. but the DESSERTS...!)

- Chuchai (Everything. Everything, they specialize in fake meat, but boy I have never tasted anything like their tofu with peanut sauce)

- Faim du Monde (they have me craving coleslaw. Best burgers in town.)

There are tons of other interesting joints in MTL, but these ones really offer high quality foods with a deep conscience for the environment.

I am so happy I am not alone! Yay!

Hi Montrealers!! I'm so excited to meet you all! I am about an hour outside Mtl, but often spend time there. I love love love Aux Vivres (I had their BLT a couple of weeks ago and I can't stop dreaming about it), and ChuChai (everything is great!). I've also had take out from Crudessence and the soup was amazing. Now I'm looking forward to Faim du Monde and Viva Vegan!

Hi everyone! It's great to see there's a vegan community in Montreal! I don't know any vegetarians/vegans around me.

I've been a vegetarian for 4 months and i'm a big vegan flirt. Meaning i only cook vegan at home but indulge in anything vegetarian when i'm at friends or at a non-vegan restaurant. This is all pretty new for me and i feel like it was already a big step to stop meat so i'm taking things slow. I never was a good cook but i'm getting better. I live in a very small flat but moving soon and i think it will be easier to achieve my vegan goals when i'll have a proper kitchen :)

Where do you do your groceries? Let me know :)

Hi Pixie!! Gosh Chuchai is amazing isn't it? I've never been to the Crudessence restaurant , but I have had a few of their cheesecakes!!YUM-O!!! I live in the st-Jerome area.. About 40 minutes from montreal..

And , Yes, Vanessa P, Chuchai is amazing from start to finish :P!! My boyfriend isn't even vegan OR vegetarian and lovessss it!!!!

I see many of you are interested in the new Viva Vegan Store coming soon to montreal, If you "LIKE" them on Facebook, you'll be sure to get all the info you need. I believe they were supposed to open last week-end. So let's cross our fingers and hope they open this week-end. I will definately be there i they do so..!!
