Hi, fellow kind lifer here in Plano, I'm also a transplant... from Maryland :) I have two dogs and Snickers and Jellybean and two cats Stoli and Goose. Currently I am making the transitional to veg and was so psyched to find this site it was totally a bonus that it was created by Alicia !!! Do you guys ever visit the dog park, we frequent the Plano dog park on weekends. :) Falisha
Hello! I have 1 dog named Mosby and 2 cats whose names are Silas and Kirby. I'm currently a vegetarian and flirting with the idea about becoming vegan. I have yet to take my dog to a dog park. He is pretty little so I am always worried about him getting hurt or running off lol. But I would definitely like to take him to one here soon.
Hi Tasha! I am from Lubbock, TX, which I believe is about 6 hours from there... but still Texas! I'm just glad to know someone remotely close to me is a Kind Lifer, as I don't know a single person around my area who is vegan, or even vegetarian!
So glad to hear of this forum. I live in Dallas, have 1 cat (Charlie) and would like to share the following with you.
A friend of mine, who attends UTD, forwarded me this email regarding a Texas animal sanctuary in desperate need of food.
If you can help in any way, please contact Producer's Coop 830-379-1750. I called Friday and made a donation, it was super easy. I know this may sound sketchy to some, but after calling and making the donation I believe it to be a legit cry for help.
Since I couldn't post the email (limited characters allowed on these posts) here is a bit of info about the sanctuary:
SARA Sanctuary l (Society for Animal Rescue and Adoption) www.sarasanctuary.org
We need help feeding our animals today. Scheduled shipments of donated food for our 1,000 sanctuary animals have not yet arrived and the animals need to eat. You can make a fast donation over the phone to our local feed store, Producer's Coop that will reach us today. We especially need dog and livestock food. SARA Sanctuary exists solely on the volunteer efforts and donations of the community. We do not receive the funding that some area shelters use to care for the animals. Please help us to care for the animals!
Producer's Coop Our local feed store accepts donations that help feed our animals when funding is tight and donations are down. If you want to make a food donation to help feed the animals of SARA, please call the coop and let them know you're donating for SARA Sanctuary. 830-379-1750
