Hello!
I am no longer in Gainesville but lived there for 4 years and they have awesome vegan restaurants! The Jones, The Top, Boca Fiesta with their tempeh burritos and vegan queso, yum :), Reggae Shack, Buddha Belly, Leonardos Bistro 706! I recently moved to Miami and the restaurant choices are no where near as awesome as Gainesville! Not to mention the Tempeh Shop's tempeh sold at Wards! As you can tell, I miss it very much lol.. hope you are enjoying the dining experiences as much as I did!
Hi Lizzy!! I LOVE Gainesville for so many reasons, especially the dining options! So happy that you mentioned 706, my fiance manages it and his dad co-owns Leo's by the Slice, Bistro, and 706! If you ever head back for a visit, let me know and maybe we can plan a date. What can I say ... being vegan is just delicious and so rewarding at the end of the day :) I hope you find some great places in Miami!
My husband and I are both from Gainesville (He graduated from Bucholz and UF and I went to Gainesville High and Santa Fe Community College)
I was a veg/vegan while there and there really is some great restaurants! The one thing I really miss from Gville was the restaurants.
Hello to all - I live in Alacua. I will admit I haven't made the committment to vegan yet. I don't want to mislead any one, but I am interetest in natural and healthy food. Just looking at the above posts is helpful to see the names of some restaurants to try. Thanks D

I'm in the Jacksonville area.. and we have a family homestead North of Gainesville.
Funny! I'm also from the Tampa Bay area and graduated near there. Still have extended family in the area.. and believe one of my SIL's went to Santa Fe.. she's a paralegal near Gainesville..
