Hi, I live near the Detroit Airport, and would love to find out about local area meetups, etc. I am new to this lifestyle and would love to connect with like-minded others.

How about a meetup in Royal Oak? I was just reading on the forum about Inn Season - I've never heard of it but the menu looks good!

well, i think inn season is over-rated and expensive. but i'll be down with whatever! seva in ann arbor is good too. lots of ethnic restaurants have vegan stuff as well..

@Lisa cressey...I have just been wanting to try the kabocha...I love butternut though. I have been trying to remember the name of that organic delivery company, so thanks for reminding me. :)

I think Inn Seasons is pretty solid... Just kind of boring, and a salad should never be 11 dollars. Has anyone tried Om Cafe or that Ethiopian restaurant in Ferndale? I'd really like to try either.

i've never been to om cafe...but i heard they have certain nights there is fish or something and the whole place smells like fish. i dunno could be a rumor! their site is down so you cant even look up info online.

if youre talking about blue nile it's THE SHIT. i LOVE ethiopian food. if you've never been there tho, i'm not sure it's the best place to go with a bunch of folk you dont know. only because you get a big plate of food and you all eat off it with this spongy bread stuff :) that might gross some people out hehe.

I haven't been to the Ethiopian place yet but it sounds interesting! I was at Seva last week for the A2 restaurant week and I usually love that place but I was slightly disappointed with the special menu. I was super-excited about the vegan chai cheesecake but it wasn't good (IMO).

I just googled veg friendly and found Golden Gate Cafe in Ferndale. Anyone been there? In RO I saw Pronto, which is good, and What Crepe (I've never been).

i didn't know anything about restaurant week! sounds fun but sucks that you were dissapointed.

ive never been to golden gate cafe. or pronto. what crepe is AMAZING too. so so good! if we did what crepe we would have to get a definite # of people and call ahead to make sure they could hold something for us. space there is pretty small..

there are lots of places that SERVE vegan food, wether or not they are mostly veg is up in the air. i guess it depends on how many options people want
