Has anyone had friends treat you differently, now that you care about the planet, your health and have stopped eating animals/animals products? Just wondering, I a couple of friends that seem to be keeping their distance and are acting different around me now.

I have a few friends who poke fun at the changes I have made and it's especially difficult when we all go out to eat or when I'm invited over to someone's house for a meal. But that just makes my other friends who accept me and my "drastic dietary changes" all the more loved!

i have def been treated diff by friends, family, and co workers...nothing too terrible...just kinda poking fun. but there was one co worker who got kinda rude the other day. they were saying that you just cant KNOW the factory farms are all bad and that all the documentaries and studies about them arent real...etc. but you know what...i honestly think some people just do not like to see other people doing well bc it makes them feel bad about themselves...and theyre probably a little jealous! you are doing a WONDERFUL thing for yourself, animals, and the planet...dont let anyone take that away from you:) and bottom line...if these "friends" are acting like that...are they really your friends?

I have run into people constantly making remarks. And, I have had friends who distanced themselves from me I believe, because of my going vegan. Whatever, this new life path I am on is amazing and I feel truly blessed to have "awoken" to it. I have such an appreciation for animals that I never had before.

I have made some new friends who are also into healthy eating and now, I am a member of the Boston Vegan Association. I am constantly cooking (which I never did before), finding new vegan/veggie restaurants, events and who am I...I even started putting healthy documentaries and anything to do with food on my Netflix queue!

Some people will be interested in what you are doing, some will be rude because they know by them continuing to eating meat and you no longer are, you are making a stand. People do not like change so you are challenging their current beliefs and values whether they admit that or not.

Don't listen to the negative! Stay true to yourself and what you believe. Hey, your body, mind, cholesterol and peace of mind will thank and love you for it., not to mention the animals :)

peace :)
