Doggie teeth cleaning, help!

Hi everyone,


I really do not want to have to take my dog to the vet for a teeth cleaning due to the scary part of anesthesia. I bought a toothbrush for him, but I don't know what to put on it to clean his teeth that is safe. I keep seeing mixed reviews about baking soda, and all of the doggie toothpastes I've seen have a bunch of icky additives and such. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it.
