This might be a long shot but anyone from the Lubbock area?
Hey! I live in Lubbock!!! I just read The Kind Diet, and I'm a little stressed to become vegan in such an anti-vegan meat loving town!
How are you surviving the vegan life in Lubbock??

It's tough in Lubbock. It's hard to find some of the vegan products that I hear about from reading blogs but it seems like Sun Harvest grocery store has the best selection of vegan stuff. Going out to eat is so hard. I have to look up every restaurant before we go to see what kind of food they have and I even try to do some research on how they prepare the food just in case there is something non-vegan in the cooking that wasn't listed in the menu. I have been pleasently suprised that some of the nicer restaurants in town will make you things that aren't on the menu if you call ahead and ask. My meat eating boyfriend wanted to go to a steak house on valentines day so he called ahead and talked to the chef and arranged a special menu for me. How are things going for you so far?
