ABOUT ME

Nutrition has always been a key interest of mine...I believe food is the ultimate medicine. I am a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist and am working toward a certificate in Plant Based Nutrition through Cornell University. All of my research has led me to the conclusion that a plant based diet is optimal.

As for what led me down this path, at the age of ten I got really sick. Despite numerous doctor appointments and a myriad of tests, no one had any answers for us. Unfortunately I also had health issues in high school and in college at times my health problems were debilitating. Toward the end of college after having been to many specialists and receiving many wrong diagnosis' (most notable IBS), my parents convinced me to try just one more; Dr. Arnold Kresch of Stanford University. I am so thankful that Dr. Kresch finally had a diagnoses for me; endometriosis. Dr. Kresch led me down the path to health that began with surgery to remove my lesions. It was Dr. Kresch who first encouraged me to research nutrition and how it could be a powerful member of my health team.

For the past 15 years I have been able to manage my endometriosis through diet and exercise. Along the way and prior to becoming a vegetarian I suffered a few more health issues (kidney infection and Adrenal Fatigue), but I have been able to nurse myself back to even better health than before through the help of integrative medicine and a vegetarian diet.

Through this blog I hope to share tips and tricks that have been helpful to me along with recipes and new research that comes my way.
