Posted Jan 21, 2011, 9:06 amHi !! I have read the kind diet over a few times ... I have really been wanting to switch to this way of eating. I'm 14 and I became a vegetarian a few years ago. I tried being a vegan in the summer but found it very hard as my family isn't and they would buy cheesecake and other yummy baked goods. I went back to being a vegetarian after a day at the PNE where I couldn't find anything vegan. About a month ago I realized that I really did want to be a vegan. So now i'm a vegan again and I never plan to go back!!! I really want to try being superhero (most of the time). My mom worries about my nutrition... as I am still in my last few growing years. I feel that I am getting everything I need ... minus calcium. I know lots of sources ... but I never seem to be able to find a way to include enough of it into my day. Can anyone help me??? also, is it true that you need almost twice as much iron if you are vegan because it's not absorbed as well? thats what my nutritionist told me ...
