Hey out there! My name is Jen and I am the mother of an almost 6-month-old boy. I have very recently made the decision to try veganism and I just love Alicia's book. I am still breastfeeding and I want to make sure I'm getting enough calcium and nutrients for my nursing baby. Is making the switch a smart move while in the middle of breastfeeding? I need advice and suggestions. Thanks!!

Hi Jennifer...I am in the same boat as you are! I have the same unanswered questions and uncertainties.

Hi Jennifer and KK, me too! My son is 7 months old and I am "leaning into"veganism...and wondering if I am getting/giving the nutrients that we need.

You need not worry. Eat whole foods (as opposed to processed, added sugars and fats) and you'll be getting great nutrition. My boy is 12 months and he's healthy. Plus!, continue to BF your babe for as long as you can... its very helpful in raising a toddler as a vegan because he gets all he needs and I don't have to be too concerned with making sure he gets enough fat or calories everyday.

Some of my favorites are:

Avacados

Quinoa

Nuts and nut butters

Oatmeal (also awesome for making milk)
