Hello,
I became a vegan in the fall of 2010, thank god for the lightbulb going off! I had joined the Boston Vegan Association a couple months ago which I am thrilled about. I think it's so important when you have a passion to be surrounded by other like-minded people who share your beliefs, interests and values. With that being said, if anyone has any other information for example, restaurants (besides these true gems...The Pulse Cafe, Red Lentil, True Bistro, Grasshopper), recipes, movies, cooking demonstrations, gatherings that are taking place, etc. I welcome your thoughts. Also, if anyone is interested in meeting up for lunch someday, that would be fantastic...it's always nice to find more friendly vegans!
peace and warm wishes,
Chrissy
Hi, I am a life-long Bostonian who has been vegan for... 8 days, which I know is not very long, but I used to be obsessed with cheese so it's pretty big for me. :P
You should check out My Thai Vegan Cafe, and also maybe TheTofuGuru on YouTube!
Hi Jazmyn!
Welcome! So, a few extra days, how did you do over the weekend with your eating? It is a little difficult at first but after a little bit, you will definitely get the hang of it.
It's funny, there is a vegan/veggie meetup every month at My Thai and I still haven't made it over there yet...but I will !!!
The TofuGuru sounds very cool, I will check that out...thanks!
Hope you're having a great day my fellow Bostonian :)

I love Red Lentil and Grasshopper...i just tried grasshopper for the first time last weekend and it was so good! The elephant walk is also a good one its cambodian food that is vegan friendly. The north end is even starting to become more vegan friendly which is awesome because i love italian food!
Chrissy as far as your vitamin post i figured i would just talk about it here since im already here:)..I too take spirulina every morning along with a probiotic, multivitamin, vitamin D, B12, folic acid, and astragalus, and biotin occasionaly. I think with what you are taking you are fine..i too feel good when taking all of mine but im sure people would disagree and say that its always better to get all your nutrients from food but i see them for exactly what they are, supplements. They supplement and add to the good health im getting from eating well, i like to know that i have a backup team of vitmains if i dont eat as good as i should some days. As far as it being harmful to your health i dont think you have anything to worry about..i guess just keep doing what makes you feel good thats what im doing. Hope that helps..mabey ill see you around Boston some day!
