Holy cow! I just had to post about this, because I think everyone should know the sweet tastiness of medjool dates!!

The hardest part for me going vegan has been controlling my sweet tooth. I ADORE sweets and have been pretty good about limiting the amount of sugary sweets I'll allow myself, but I have to have something sweet once a day. I saw a previous post somewhere about how madjori dates are great for superheros with a sweet craving. Since I'm trying to encorporate more superhero stuff into my life, I saw a package of them today at the store and decided to give them a try. I was a little skeptical at first, but golly it was delicious!!

Basically, if you haven't ever tried a medjool date before and loves sweet, you HAVE got to try them!!

A guy at my natural foods market recommended them to me about 6 months ago to control a sweet tooth. They are AMAZING!!!! I don't even miss Reese's Cups anymore because they are BETTER than Reese's!!!!!!!

Oh, I love them too. Especially the ones rolled in almond. They are so sweet and the texture is so decadent. Love, love, love.

Love them here too! I have been eating them for years, even before my vegetarian/vegan quest! I thank my 3rd grade teacher for introducing me to dates, and I also remember asking my mom to buy them....she was pretty shocked that I wanted such a thing, but she bought them!

We have made a few raw desserts that used only medjool dates as sweeteners and they were delish! We recently made a raw blueberry pie with cashew cream, yum!

We actually took the pie to a family event and everyone that tried it loved it and couldn't believe that it was vegan and raw and tasted good! haha. It waa great because my husband's great uncle is diabetic and he was staying away from the cake. He was so excited when he found our pie and he loved it!

Okay, I lied, there is a tiny bit of agave in it. Here is the link for the website where I found the recipe:

For the cashew cream I just looked up a generic recipe on the web. Definitely try the pie!

Oh yes! I just made a desert yesterday that tasted like fudge or brownies. They were so good! It had walnuts, dates, dried cherries, a little vanilla and a little cocoa powder. That's it!
