Hey everyone, I'm Mindy - I started The Kind Life book this morning and it has been exhilarating for me to learn more about the lifestyle of a vegan. I've dabbled with vegan diets before but slowly lost the initial motivation...this book has definitely revamped my desire to change my life for the better, hopefully this will be a permanent thing!

Welcome! Alicia's book is fabulous and this forum she created here is as well. I think you'll find everyone here is fabulous and super supportive. Motivation can be tough and at times you may need an extra push... this is a great place to come to get it. :) Also, since you are just starting out you may find my plant-based health study valuable. (I am a physician who advocates a plant-based diet) 14 days ago we switched 7 people (our study participants) from a SAD (standard American diet) or a vegetarian diet to a plant-based diet (vegan). They will be doing this for 60 days (as far as the study is concerned) and are blogging about their experiences and this transition on the site (their lab work is also printed in the interest of transparency). We are measuring various health markers to evaluate the benefits this type of diet. We measured these before the study started, we will be measuring them again at the 30 day mark and of course once the study concludes and posting all results on the site.
