I just wanted to thank Alicia for writing "the kind diet". It gave me the motivation I needed to go vegan. I was a vegetarian a couple years ago, but the pressure from family made me go back to a meat eating diet. But now, I know whats best for me, and that is living the best I can without hurting any more animals.

I already feel better, but I wonder, is it normal to have an intense headache and bad breath the first days?

Thank you, greetings from the cold north:)

Hi Thea congratulations to u for standing up to what you believe! I was a vegatarian for 3 years and have been vegan for 32 days. I also face much pressure from family and friends, one day it just hit me how much of a hippocrite i was being. claiming to love the animals and then coverering everything i ate with chesse. I find that my body has gone through a definate detox, its funny i no longer crave foods (which if u knew me would find that impossible)! I would imagine the headache u are experiencing has something to do with that. Are you taking some sort of B12? i am using nutritional yeast and a B12 melt in your mouth, i hear that if lacking can cause problems. The bad breath i have read is common, it will go away your body is releasing many toxins. I feel so much better, energy level is so much higher and I have lost ALL my nasal allergies!! So i think with all those positives I really dont care what the people around me think! Best to you, and great job for the animals!

Hei fra Norge her å :p Har vært vegan i 3 uker i dag :)

Hei!

Hvorfor bestemte du deg for å bli veganer?

Hi Thea!

Welcome and congratulations on your diet change! I think it is normal to have some affects, like headaches, when you do a major change like cutting out a food group. It's your body detoxing and realigning itself. Don't worry.....you are making the right decision! Please keep us posted on your journey! Have a great day! Megin

Hi Megin!

The headache and bad breath dissapeared a couple of weeks ago, so like you said, my body was detoxing. Now, my body feels increadably light, I feel almost "high", hehe. That is proof enogh for me that this is the right thing to do.

Why and when did you become vegan?
