Mice!

We've got mice (well, hopefully mouse not mice but you get the drift...). He's been here about a month. The three cats haven't been able to get him, he's chewed multiple holes in the wall (we rent, not cool) and we're living out of boxes in the back closet for food - trying to keep it all away from him.

We've tried several humane traps to capture him, several methods to lure him out of the apartment, inhumane 'snap' traps, glue traps, etc. and we've had no luck in getting him. We can't and won't use anything poisonous because I don't believe in that and don't want that crap in the house at all.

Whose got suggestions for quick (and preferably, kind) mouse go-away-ers?

You might be able to look up a good natural, homemade mouse "repellent". I know they don't like garlic...

They don't like spearmint. Buy spearmint oil and put it everywhere!!!

I was just going to make the same suggestion as Katerina.

I had a mouse problem last year in my old rented apartment too.

1. I cleaned everything! All food was in airtight containers so that prevent them from smelling the food.

2. I cleaned and tidied the entire apartment to make sure they weren't hiding under furniture at the moment.

3. I blocked off all suspected mouse holes, cracks in moldings, etc etc. You can use steel wool for the space around plumbing.

4. I wiped peppermint oil across doorways and other entrances that I thought the mice could possibly be using. and Lastly I applied peppermint oil all over the kitchen. The peppermint confuses the mice's senses.

I never had a problem after that.

I hope that helps!

Oh and I'm not sure about them not liking garlic...because they ate garlic that sat up on my counter.
