...And I've lost 7 lbs! I am doing a 4-week Superhero challenge and my body is loving it! : )
Great! It's amazing what a clean diet can do for a person!
Oh I'm very jealous! I've been Superhero for a weak and lost nothing :( And for the first 6 days or so I felt great, and then some of my nasty food intolerances kicked in (and I have NO clue why. A bit scared it's all the rice! Too much starch sometimes sets me off), and I feel awful again.
Yes Sara-it is amazing, isn't it!? So glad I'm doing this. Are you also participating in the Superhero lifestyle?
Kate, that is pretty frustrating but let me tell you, this was not my first experience with this diet. I was an omnivore when I discovered The Kind Diet about 14 months ago. I became a Superhero cold tofurkey and was doing great for 2 weeks until I rediscovered white sugar. It's taken me an entire year of ups and downs to get back to the success I found in those first two magical weeks but you can't give up. If you let your body do what it has to do, I think it will eventually feel how you want it to feel or look how you want it to look.
So yes, this is the first week of my challenge, but it's not the first week I've ever tried to do this so don't be fooled by easy fixes because it doesn't work that way, no matter what anyone says. Be gracious to your body and listen to it. If you have intolerances you should definitely respect them and work around them and find out what works for you. Not everything on the Superhero diet from The Kind Diet agrees with my body so I pick and choose and tweak as necessary. You should do the same and see what works for you! : )
I'm trying my best to be a superhero! I'd say I am 70-80% superhero most of the time. Most of my main meals are superhero, but I slip up occasionally with snacky stuff. It's gotten easier as time has gone by, though. I've been vegan since June/July, I think, and go through a cycle of being great at superhero eating and being not so great. One thing I've found to be helpful is to keep track of what I eat. I know that's not necessary when eating superhero, but it helps me realize how bad the non-superhero stuff I eat is for me. It encourages me to stay on track; after a while, I probably won't need to keep track of it. And now I am actually starting to lose wieght--all the other great benefits have been manifesting themselves all along, though.
I'm inspired to be superhero for 30 days! I've even been slipping with the veganism lately with dairy, cheese and even meat! :( I keep trying to go superhero b/c I know it will help some of my health issues, but it just seemed to huge. I think I can at least shoot for 30 days versus just saying I'm superhero forever. It seems much more attainable and I'm starting tomorrow, after a few glasses of wine tonight hehe.
