Soy free superhero...

I was superhero for a while in the summer of 2010, (as a 13 yr old,now 14) and then randomly stopped because of school/rehersal for theatre...etc. I was home sick today, and realized that maybe becoming superhero again would be a good thing to do. I have lentils and brown rice on the stove now (though I don't have much of an appetite now) and am planning on starting fresh with this. I just recently gave up all SOY, (shoyu, tofu, anything w/soy) so this may be more of a challenge. Could I get some support as I track my progress with this? :)
I'm allergeric to soy and gluten so giving it up and staying superhero is a great challenge. But you can do it. A soy free/gluten free substitute for soy sauce is Coconut Aminos. I don't know if it is considered superhero (i'm not an expert, still learning myself) but you can buy it at whole foods. here is the link about the product. http://www.coconutsecret.com/aminos2.html.
Also here is a great soy free vegan blog with great recipes. http://glutenfreesoyfreevegan.wordpress.com/
Good luck on your journey :)
Hi Olivia & Tonia :)
I find that with macrobiotics (superhero) I actually don't consume much soy. I like to flavour things with other products and there are some great things...mirin, umeboshi vinegar, brown rice vinegar, coconut aminos.
Also, there is no need to feel like it is more of a challenge...honestly, the more you learn about it, the more you will realise you don't really need soy anyway :)
Maybe try reading 'Clean Food', or 'Modern Day Macrobiotics'. Both are excellent on this front :)
Good luck and know I am here for support if you need it too :) :)
