It's a bright new day!

It's a bright new day.....well, actually it's rainy and dark here in Portland. But in my heart I feel a new and bright beginning. Your support my kind friends gave me the release and the insight to begin fresh. I asked the universe to send me to a safe place last night to get the sleep I desperately needed and gratefully I was back with the sun, sea and sand. Ahhhhh. Until......two A.M. I sit up in bed out of a deep sleep with the words "you reap what you sow" written across my mind's eye! Whoa.....my religious experience consists of being shipped off to Bible school as a kid only because it was somewhere to put kids to give mom's a two week break. And a father who claimed he was a "humanist"......if he was a representation of what "humanism" is, it's a sad day for humans. I'm thinking why the message didn't come to me as "karma is a bitch"? I was deeply involved in New Age Spiritualism in the 90's and would still describe my believes in those terms. So...the point to this post......I'm now interested in some readings on spiritualism/religion and veganism. Has anyone gone down this path and can you suggest some good books? Thanks! And have a beautiful day!

I can really relate. I just stumbled, as fate would have it perhaps??, a wonderful book. It is easy to read, informative, and beyond reinspiring and hopeful to me. I highly suggest it. I just started and have encouraged 3 friends to purchase the book as well and read it! :) It is called, Most Good, Least Harm by Zoe Weil. She has a great website too, and some youtube videos if you'd like to see her in action before making the purchase. I got choked up watching one of her videos- so inspiring :) I hope it brings peace and happiness to you.

Hi Martha,

Thank you! I've added your suggestion to my list which includes "The World Peace Diet". I have seen this book suggested on other sites. I'm looking forward to some inspirational reading!

Check out the Christian Vegetarian Society, I'm sure they have a lot of resources listed.
