Abusive Circus Comes to Town!

Please, if you live in Wisconsin, or just want to help, join forces with Alliance for Animals and PETA and boycott the Shrine Circus, who just pulled into town this morning! Ugh, this all makes me so sad. I can't even watch the preview for that movie coming out called "Water for Elephants" because it makes me cry just thinking about what these poor animals endure on a daily basis.

My uncle took me to a circus when I was 5 or 6...."Dumbo" was my favorite movie at the time. I don't remember it, but apparently we had to leave ten minutes after getting there because I was crying hysterically because I didn't want to see the ringleader whipping a baby elephant (like in the movie)...ever since, circuses have broken my heart.

Wow...so someone actually commented on my blog that the animals in the greusome photos WEREN'T being abused....seriously....how are people so BLIND to this torture?!

Wow, unbelievable! I can't believe that that person would try to justify this torture! What baby elephant would need to be shackled by it's legs? True, they may need to sedate the animal for veterinary reasons, but they would not need to shackle it and drag it around like that. People are so ignorant. It is already difficult enough to get documentation of the atrocities that happen in these places, but then they come back and act like the photos are lying or something!

When they came to town near here last summer ( Pointe Claire, Quebec ) I e-mailed everyone at city hall and asked that they be heros for the animals and ban circuses. I didn't get one single reply. Not one. I sent them a PETA link of undercover, backstage abuse. Apparently no one cares. Very sad world we live in.
