I went to a Wildtree party last weekend. Wildtree is a company founded on the premise that food should be natural, nutritious, delicious, and easy to prepare. The representatives that do their parties sell food that is supposed to be all-natural with no preservatives, additives, etc. I enjoyed the party, as there was some vegan food there and, although I doubt they're all going to go vegan, I got a chance to talk a little about my lifestyle as a vegan and people were very receptive and interested. I did not have much money on me at the time so I didn't order anything. However, my mom ordered some grapeseed oil and offered to share some of it with me. I figured this could be a healthier alternative to olive oil in cooking but I'm new to it. Has anyone here used grapeseed oil? It is vegan, right? Is it a good choice to use for cooking?
I've used it before, with roasting and sauteeing veggies. From what I've read, grapeseed oil has a higher smoking point than olive oil, which makes it ideal for cooking. It does have a slightly nutty taste that comes out in the cooking, so just keep that in mind.
Cool, thanks for sharing! I look forward to experimenting with grapeseed oil in my cooking.
You can also use it in homemade salad dressings. I use it in place of olive oil when I make a simple vinagrette. It has a mild taste so it's not noticeable.
I know this was from a long time ago, but wanted to see if anyone knew much about the Wildtree brand?? I've been to a couple parties and have bought the taco seasoning and steak rub consistently for a while now because my husband loves them both! I just got an email today saying the brand is going Organic. Wanted to know if anyone knows anything more about the company or products???
