As a dude who's looking to kick-ass and take names, I can't resist.

I'm going to buy this... I hope its available on Kindle. ...er, bummer. It's not at the Kindle store... Maybe on iBooks... let me check. Damn! ...no instant gratification on this one.

Well, I am still planning to buy this book. I'm not adverse to plant-based(paper) books, I just prefer the kinder electronic delivery model! :-)

I'd be curious to know how others feel about e-books vs. paper.

I cannot find the suggested book in either format. Not at the llibrary either. I do not have an e-reader yet so I choose to get my reading material from the library. Once I've read the book and know that I will use it for reference then I will buy it.

Thanks. I found it. I too am looking forward to reading it. I just don't think my husband will pick it up. He isn't an avid reader to begin with. Can't hurt to try I guess.

I, too, would have loved to have purchased the book electronically, but it wasn't available on nook or iBooks, so I had to buy the paper book through the web-site provided. I just received it last night and started looking through it and it looks great!! I'm super in to it so far. Alicia was right, it does have a lot of guy energy, but I like that, even as a woman, it's nice to have a man's perspective sometimes on these things, to have a different viewpoint. Also his energy is so "kick-ass" it's very fun. I like it. Tonight I'll settle down more and start really reading...last night I was just skimming through and getting familiar with the book and it's style. Oh, I really liked what I saw so far also on the photos of big, in-shape, vegan athletes and how the book seems to really make the point that you can be strong, muscular, athletic, all of that, AND be vegan! We know that, but it's so super cool to have a book talking about it and have it put out there by a guy who is that way himself. Very "good press" for a vegan lifestyle, in my opinion. I wish that everyone could see this book, and read it, and realize how many vegan athletes there are-everyday athletes, professional, and olympic, etc. I know this is pointed out in so many awesome books (like our beloved Kind Diet), that deserve attention too, but right now we are just focusing on this book this month, right! And I'm so glad this book was chosen because otherwise I may have never known about it. Thank you! I'll come back and post again after reading. I was just excited and had to say what I thought so far. Plus, I wanted to respond to Darren's question on the e-book thing-----yes, Darren, I love to get my books electronically too, when possible. So many benefits to that, I agree.

I am right there with ya Darren, I have found that many of the Vegan books tend to be softer and deliciate, as a man this is exactly what I was hoping to find. Can't wait to read it.

To all the gentlemen who read this book... Are you already vegans? How would you feel if you weren't and a vegan girlfriend gave it to you to read? Is the title still catchy enough to entice you?? Or even if you are already a vegan... thoughts?

Cheers!!

I was already vegan, the book has yet to arrive but I can't wait for it. I am the one who caused the shift to vegan in my house my wife thankfully was all for it; however, it certainly would be a book I would at least flip through prior to being vegan. There is a downpour of female oritented health and vegan items out in the world so it would be your best bet for a man in my opinion.

I know people mentioned this on the post Alicia had about the book club, but Thrive, by Brendan Brazier, is another one that males may appreciate. I personally don't appreciate the title of this book, as I think we should get away from such gender-related garbage.

As far as e-book vs paper, some people argue that the carbon footprint of an e-book, from manufacture to disposal, doesn't offset the carbon footprint of buying paper. But I don't know what the actual facts are.

Has anyone purchased the book and not received it? I purchased it the day that Alicia posted the book club. I contacted them but am still waiting for reply.
