Going crazy in Texas

I am a newbie vegan....I love it and I am so happy with what I am fueling my body with now! I have even found great non toxic makeup, lotion, face wash..etc......I could not feel better, but I am having a "VERY" hard time with my die hard~~"beef" eating husband. I know he does not understand and has even said he won't tell anyone that I am vegan because he said vegan people are strange....(that made me feel great)..:( I have three kids and they don't mind eating healthier; however, I cook three different meals now... One for my "will only eat beef" husband, and one for my three kids who love turkey! And of course I cook a seperate meal for myself. Does anyone else have this problem? I have been married for 18 years and I know he is soooo stubborn and will never change, but can anyone help me and share how I might begin to deal with him better?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...Thank you.~~
Hi there I get it!!!! I have been married 20 years and have 2 kids older now but I have been a vegetarian for 27 years. I make different meals all the time I guess I am a people pleaser. I try now to make most of my meals similar so all I do is change the meats. It takes practice but it gets easier. I cook meat for my husband I have gotten pretty good at seasoning since I never eat it but honestly its like petfood. I just serve it up. I never force anyone to be a vegetarian since the decison is so important to make and stick to. My daughter became a vegetarian on her own about 12 years old she is 17 now. So at least we share foods my Son is 20 (big meat eater) and makes his own food. I live in Mckinney tx and Texas is coming around slowly to veganism but mostly they think were are Nuts!!! Do what your heart tells you and no matter what it will be ok.
I have started making similar meals and it has worked great!!!! Really has helped me and made dinner less crazy from day to day! Thanks..:)
My oldest daughter (13) said the other day, "I don't worry about what you cook for me, cause I know it will be healthy." Made my day! Maybe I am doing something right..LOL
